New structure for Women’s League Hockey in the Midlands

In an online vote held during December 2020, women’s hockey clubs from across the Midlands Region have given the “thumbs up” to a proposed new structure for league hockey.  The new approach, developed as part of hockey’s wider transitional strategy, will unify the 9 adult women’s leagues currently in operation in the Midlands, within a single league pyramid. Club Hockey Suspended from 5 November 2020

England Hockey have confirmed that the lockdown coming into place in England from 5 November means that all club hockey activities will also cease from that date. The full statement from England Hockey can be found here. The suspension of hockey activities will last until at least 2 December. In the meantime, all league committees will be considering the implications for the resumption of the leagues and these will be communicated in due course.

EH AGM Resolution and Midlands Region – Statement

The result of yesterday evening’s AGM of England Hockey was to vote in favour of the Resolution proposing the changes outlined in the document ‘A Structure Fit for the Future’. League Season 2020/21 Update

England Hockey have today announced that grassroots hockey is in a position to move to Step 5 of Return to Play with adult leagues permitted to start from 26 September 2020. 25th March MRHA Council Meeting

In light of the COVID-19 disease, and the government’s advice to avoid social gatherings, the Board of Midlands Hockey (MRHA) have taken the decision to cancel the Council meeting due to be held on 25th March at Old Silhilians Hockey Club. Once it is safe to convene a council meeting, the Association will convene a meeting at the earliest opportunity.
