The Midlands selects a range of representative “Overs” age group hockey teams for men and women which enter the relevant England Hockey competitions.

Midlands Masters Women. With the country being in the early stages of the Government Roadmap and the Covid-19 vaccination programme, the Women’s Regional Masters Leads have discussed the feasibility of holding the various O35 to O65 Regional Tournaments in 2021. With player fitness and well-being the top priority and bearing in mind the short period of time available to hold trials and practice games for most of the age groups, it has been decided nationally that none of the tournaments will go ahead this year. However, there will be a O65s festival tournament, scheduled to be held on Sunday 11 July 2021 at Hampton HC. This particular event will be a festival tournament and not an official EH Regional Tournament, and of course, is still subject to change if demanded by the circumstances.

If you would be interested in representing the Midlands in the O65 festival tournament, or indeed any future tournament, please contact Cheryl McCulloch at [email protected]

Midlands Masters Men will be represented in all age groups from O35 to O75 in the 2021 Regional Tournaments. All of the groups will run trials before the squads are selected. These are arranged by the age group captain or manager. If you are interested in trialling in any of the groups, please contact the relevant age group captain or manager.

The dates for the 2021 Men’s Regional Tournaments are set out below. Due to the Covid-19 situation, there may need to be changes made.

Area Masters. As the Midlands progresses through the transition from Region to Area, expressions of interest are welcomed from those who would like to be involved within Masters Hockey in the Midlands. This could, for example, be a role within the representational teams or as part of the group looking to broaden the Masters hockey opportunities within the Midlands. In the first instance, more information can be found here on the England Hockey website. We will also be providing more information on this website here.
